PT10 Tuner,

December 02, 2011
By Lennie Schoonover
This little tuner works well. The red screen changes to green when your pitch is correct. This cuts the time it takes to get in tune. A needle shows you how far off you are and which direction. The tuner is easy to read as the display is bright. Battery replacement is easy and the clip is strong with no-mar padding where it makes contact with the headstock. The tuner is very sensitive and if you pluck the string too loudly, the tuner "scrambles". A medium pluck with your thumb is all that is necessary. Overtones throw it off too. I find I have to mute the other strings to get real accuracy. The battery that came included died in a week but the replacement has been good for 3 and still seems to be sufficient. I advise to keep an extra in your case as you get little warning of a low battery. The instructions were non existant but unless this is your first electronic tuner you should have no trouble turning it on - tuning - and turning it off. The process is very quick, even on a 12 string. I will be finding or making a small cloth bag for storage so that it doesn't get all scratched up in the accessory box. This would be a nice touch from the mfg. to keep the face scratch free and easy to read.
